By accessing, browsing, or using Sameerah AI ("the Service"), you unconditionally agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must immediately cease using the Service. Your continued use of the Service following any changes to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of such changes.

Sameerah AI is a web-based artificial intelligence chatbot that provides Islamic spiritual companionship, Quranic verse references, and general Islamic knowledge. The Service includes text-based chat and voice input functionality powered by third-party AI processing services.

The Service is provided for informational, educational, and spiritual support purposes only. It is not a substitute for qualified human scholars, licensed professionals, or emergency services.

Specifically, you acknowledge and agree that:

• No medical advice: Content on this Service does not constitute medical or health advice. Do not use Sameerah AI to diagnose, treat, or manage any medical condition. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical concerns.
• No religious rulings (fatwa): Responses from Sameerah AI are not fatwas, religious rulings, or scholarly opinions. They are AI-generated summaries of general Islamic knowledge. For specific religious questions requiring a ruling, consult a qualified Islamic scholar or mufti.
• No legal advice: Nothing on this Service constitutes legal advice. Do not rely on Sameerah AI responses for legal decisions. Consult a qualified solicitor or barrister for legal matters.
• No mental health therapy: Sameerah AI is not a crisis counsellor, therapist, or mental health professional. It cannot replace human support for mental health concerns.
• No financial advice: Islamic finance guidance provided is general in nature and does not constitute regulated financial advice.

The Service operator expressly disclaims any liability arising from reliance on AI-generated responses as professional advice.

All responses provided by Sameerah AI are generated by artificial intelligence. In compliance with applicable laws including California's AI disclosure requirements (AB 2602 and related legislation), we clearly disclose that:

• All chat responses are AI-generated and not authored by a human
• AI responses may contain errors, inaccuracies, or outdated information
• AI responses should not be taken as authoritative statements of Islamic doctrine
• Quranic verses referenced by the AI should be verified against an authoritative printed Quran
• The AI does not have beliefs, consciousness, or genuine understanding — it generates statistically probable text based on training data

You acknowledge that AI-generated content has inherent limitations and that you will exercise your own judgment when interpreting responses.

Sameerah AI is intended for users who meet the following minimum age requirements:

• General (worldwide): You must be at least 13 years of age to use this Service.
• European Union residents: You must be at least 16 years of age, or have obtained verifiable parental or guardian consent, in accordance with Article 8 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
• United States residents: Use by children under 13 is prohibited under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Users aged 13–17 should have parental awareness of their use of this Service.

By using this Service, you confirm that you meet the applicable minimum age requirement for your jurisdiction. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through this Service, please contact us immediately at compliance@sameerahai.com so we can delete such information.

We reserve the right to terminate accounts or deny access where we have reason to believe a user does not meet the applicable minimum age requirement.

Sameerah AI provides spiritual guidance only. It is not equipped to handle crisis situations, suicidal ideation, self-harm, domestic abuse, child endangerment, or any other emergency requiring immediate human intervention.

By using this Service, you acknowledge that Sameerah AI is not a substitute for professional crisis support and that you will contact emergency services in situations requiring immediate assistance.

You agree to use Sameerah AI only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

• Use the Service to generate, store, or disseminate harmful, defamatory, obscene, threatening, misleading, or hateful content
• Attempt to misrepresent AI-generated content as human scholarly opinion or authoritative religious ruling
• Use the Service to harass, abuse, stalk, threaten, or harm any person
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or exploit any aspect of the Service
• Use automated systems, bots, scripts, or scrapers to access the Service
• Circumvent, disable, or interfere with rate limits, security features, or other usage restrictions
• Use the Service for any commercial purpose without prior written consent
• Transmit viruses, malware, or any other malicious code
• Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely represent your affiliation with any person or entity
• Engage in any activity that disrupts or interferes with the Service or its infrastructure
• Share your account credentials with others or permit third parties to access the Service through your account

The Sameerah AI name, logo, website design, user interface, and underlying source code are the intellectual property of the Service operator and are protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws. Quranic text and widely-accepted translations referenced by the Service are in the public domain. AI-generated responses are provided for personal, non-commercial use only and may not be reproduced, distributed, or commercially exploited without prior written permission.

The original written content of these Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and all website copy including but not limited to interface text, guidance language, and structural organisation is original work product protected by copyright. Any unauthorised reproduction, scraping, or copying of website content, design, or legal documents for use on other platforms is a violation of these Terms and applicable intellectual property law.

The Service enforces usage limits (currently 7 messages per 3-hour window) to ensure fair and equitable access for all users. We reserve the right to modify, increase, or decrease these limits at any time without notice. The Service may be unavailable due to scheduled maintenance, updates, technical issues, or circumstances beyond our control. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access to the Service.

We reserve the right to restrict, suspend, or permanently terminate access to the Service for any user who violates these Terms or uses the Service in a manner we deem inappropriate, abusive, or harmful, without prior notice or liability. Any suspected fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity may be reported to the relevant law enforcement authorities.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Service operator, its creators, developers, owners, affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, and licensors from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or related to your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising from or related to your use of or inability to use the Service, regardless of the theory of liability, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Without limiting the foregoing, the Service operator shall not be liable for any harm, loss, or damage resulting from reliance on AI-generated content, including but not limited to reliance on spiritual, religious, medical, legal, or financial guidance provided by the Service.

In compliance with applicable AI transparency laws including California AB 2602 and similar legislation, Sameerah AI periodically reminds users that they are interacting with an artificial intelligence system. Responses are not authored by a human scholar, therapist, or professional of any kind. This disclosure is made at the point of every session initiation.

In accordance with applicable laws governing AI companion services, including regulations enacted in New York (S7694-A), California, and equivalent UK provisions, Sameerah AI implements mandatory crisis intervention protocols. Any message containing indicators of suicidal ideation, self-harm, or immediate danger will trigger an automatic safety response providing emergency contact numbers. No AI response will discourage a user from seeking emergency professional help.

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without any warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or reliability. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components. Your use of the Service is entirely at your own risk.

We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, war, terrorism, riots, embargoes, governmental actions, acts of civil or military authority, fire, floods, earthquakes, pandemics, internet or network outages, third-party service provider failures, or power outages.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

We reserve the right to modify, amend, or update these Terms at any time at our sole discretion. Material changes will be indicated by updating the effective date at the top of these Terms. Your continued use of the Service after any modifications constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

We take all feedback seriously and are committed to resolving concerns promptly. If you have a complaint about how Sameerah AI handled your query, data concerns, or believe you have experienced harm as a result of using the Service, please contact us at compliance@sameerahai.com.

We aim to acknowledge all complaints within 5 working days and resolve them within 30 calendar days. For unresolved data protection complaints, UK users may escalate to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
